Mom and I went to Busan, the second largest city in Korea and it is a beautiful harbor. I have seen many beautiful harbor cities including Sydney, San Francisco, Perth, etc and they are no doubt beautiful but Busan is right up there with them to be called a beautiful city with about 3 million people. A huge harbor also surrounded by pretty mountains makes the place special.
We took the KTX, the fastest train in Korea which took us less than 3 hours to travel about 300 miles. We took a city-tour bus, a double decker which costs us for about $10 per person for the whole-day. The hotel we stayed was also pretty and relatively cheap. We had a good ocean view from our hotel room.
Unfortunately, the summer rainy season has just started, since the day after we arrived in Busan. Luckily, we visited almost all the places we would like to visit in the first day. Since it rained, we left Busan early yesterday and came home early. At the moment, it rains on and off, just like Portland in January but early July it will be pouring for one or two weeks. Luckily, we will be home at that time and enjoy fine days there.
We look forward to seeing you all and grandchildren soon.
